A STRANGE SIGHTING!

There is an area in St. Kitts on the eastern outskirts of the Capital called Bird Rock, and you would think the area is full of birds. Not so, really, Bird Rock is mostly a residential and small Industrial area, not close to any of the fresh water lakes on the island.

Well imagine how surprised we were when passing an empty grassed field near to Ram’s car park, when 18 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were observed. Yes, 18 of them!

The first ever sighting of a Black-bellied whistling Duck was only as recent as 2009, with only two subsequent sightings as far as I am aware! This was indeed a strange observation! (March 24, 2012).
